Stacey Barnett – Kingston Children’s Center
Stacey Barnett is the Executive Director of The Kingston Children’s Center (KCC). KCC is a non-profit early childhood center committed to providing high quality early education and care opportunities for all community children.
Stacey joined the KCC team in 2006. KCC staff is a group of early childhood professionals that have been dedicated to the center for years; some of the teachers had been with KCC for almost or over twenty years. This type of longevity is unusual in early education and Stacey was pleased to join such a dedicated group in their continuing effort to provide exceptional education for young children.
Stacey earned undergraduate degrees in early childhood education and counseling. She went on to earn an MS in Human Services Administration from New England College and a Juris Doctorate from Massachusetts School of Law. In addition to her work at KCC, Stacey also works with family law and bankruptcy clients in Massachusetts.
Stacey has been in the early childhood education field for over twenty years. Prior to joining KCC, she was the Senior Director for a group of centers in Massachusetts and oversaw the operations of three sites. KCC was Stacey’s first introduction to the non-profit sector. She has been thrilled to learn how many organizations, businesses, and individuals are willing to donate their money, time, and expertise to make a difference in the lives of young children.
Since 2006, Stacey has helped to continue KCC’s history of striving to provide the best education possible for our communities youngest children. The center attained License Plus from the State of New Hampshire. Licensed Plus indicates that the center has demonstrated that it meets a higher standard than the regular NH Child Care Licensing Rules. Currently, the center is in the process of applying for Accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Stacey and the center staff are truly pleased that their work on quality has attained this current level. They will be officially announcing their candidacy this upcoming January.
Stacey’s latest KCC project is one that you can see in action. Work recently began to insulate and re-side KCC’s building that was built in 1880. The work is moving right along. Please feel free to drive by and take a look. Or wait until it’s done and schedule a tour to see the work up close and meet the amazing staff.
